Groundbreaking residency for people with Autism realized in Hinge

The project was developed and designed by Njordrum Care in close collaboration with Architect Mette Wienberg, where the company's strong interdisciplinary skills and experience have seriously challenged the existing and whole way of thinking about housing for particularly vulnerable people. Njordrum Care welcomes a visionary builder who thinks long-term, sustainably and with a focus on quality of life for a group of citizens in need of a protective environment in order to thrive and develop. The property offer is to be built in scenic surroundings in Hinge near Silkeborg.

The new housing offer focuses on Njordrum Care's approach to Design and Architecture as healing, stress-reducing and supportive architecture.

The building is something very special because the citizens each have their own individual housing. The homes, located freely in the beautiful countryside overlooking Lake Hinge, thus provide citizens with an individual sanctuary, where they get a home with their own decor and not just a dwelling. A home that is safe, where you can recharge, where you can be inspired and that gives strength to life both inside and outside the usual environment.

For some citizens, it is especially important that the housing is well thought out with special elements that support the individual's well-being, development and the opportunity to choose the community and an active participation in society. With a secure base, the chance that you will have profits to choose the community for is greater. A win-win for both the individual and all of our society. The buildings in Hinge therefore also include community houses, where the opportunity to gather around, for example, communities of interest is present in a large way and in this way also contributes to inclusion and community.

The homes are built in Njordrum Care's uniquely developed, flexible and flyable module which, with its modularity and portability, provides precisely flexibility and scalability. If there is a need for additional housing, the delivery time is a few months from the order until the house is ready for occupancy, and excess capacity can be moved or reconfigured within the existing housing offer.

The entire building is constructed with facade cladding in solid pine, which, with a completely non-toxic heat treatment, gives the wood a durability of over 30 years. The buildings are largely finished indoors and then moved to the prepared ground — a process that optimizes the construction both in time and at the same time eliminates the risk of moisture damage, for example.

We are delighted with the choice of Njordrum Care - a new, innovative approach to working with housing for citizens with special needs and to experience the difference this unique settlement in Hinge will make for residents, employees and the surrounding community.
