Supporting architecture creates safety and quality of life

The nursing home is designed and placed as a separate “village” in the landscape, but also in context and relation to the surrounding community and settlements in general. Physical and visual connections within the building and between the different residents motivate community, synergy and activity. Developed with wood as the supporting material in both constructions and facades. Thus, the vision of sustainable development in balance with the environment and nature, a focus on reducing the CO2 footprint and, not least, a strong attachment to the landscape and the recreational qualities of the outdoor space are taken into account and focused on.

With increasing life expectancy in society, the number of citizens with special needs for care and care - for example, elderly citizens with dementia - is increasing.

In our senior and dementia offerings, special attention has been paid to the fact that there should be a homely, cozy atmosphere both indoors and outdoors — even if the homes have to be decorated with extra focus on function and special needs. In strong relation to landscape and thus nature, the senior and dementia housing offer is shaped as a small “village” of its own, where an inner square forms the safe and recognizable setting for the citizens. The dwellings frame and thus create the inner “square” which becomes the starting point for the communal life in the settlement.

With variations in composition, colors and facade structures, a reference is created to precisely the diversity of a village or residential neighborhood. The atmosphere, diversity and cohesion with the surrounding community and the residents' relatives are further supported by the possibility that other residents of the area can also shop at the bakery or get a haircut at the hairdresser.
